Italy's Great Discovery

Lawson's Dry Hills is a medium-sized Marlborough Wine Company committed to the production of premium Marlborough wines. Their philosophy is to produce wines of great character at a good price. It is believed that they were the first in the world to seal all its bottles with screwcaps as a means of avoiding cork taint.

--- Cool Sake for Summer!

Summer is around, let's introduce different styles of cool sake for your enjoyment in this sultry summer. The most popular "Shichida Natsujun Tokubetsu Junmai", light on the first palate yet finishes with a unique rice aroma of Shichida; " Houraisen Hatsunatsunokaze Junmai Daiginjyo" is a summer version of "Kuu", its refreshness shows amazing citrus aromas. "Fukucho Natsugin Ginjyo" has a completely different style with a very dry palate, highly recommended to chill before serving. "Eikun Junmai Daiginjyo Namachozo", with its fruity and rich taste. Another two highlights that can be served on the rocks: "Okunomatsu Ginjyo Genshu" and "Tamagawa Ice Breaker Junmai Ginjyo", Okunomatsu is easy to drink while enjoying the delicate changes in taste when the ice melts in your glass of Tamagawa.

July is the harvest season of peaches in Japan. Juicy and aromatic Japanese peaches are the perfect ingredient for making fruit liqueur. New arrival of "Kibiji kajitsunosakekoubou Peach Liqueur", made from peaches of Okayama prefecture, the most famous place for growing white peaches in Japan, aromatic sweet and refreshing with delicate peach flavour on the palate. Another highlight is from the same prefecture, "Chikurin Hakutohi", it takes two peaches to make this liqueur, giving a balanced sweetness and slightly dry and mature taste. It is recommended to serve on the rocks or mixed with soda water. "Okunomatsu Momotoro", has mature peach juice and the flesh will melt in your mouth.

While Californian wine is included in the new world wine category, she is also regarded as the newest old world wines. Californian wines entered the international stage at the 1976 Judgement of Paris Wine Competition. Californian wines beat out French wines in both red and white wine categories.

Intense aromas of blackberry and boysenberry along with licorice. A juicy and silky entry is followed by a velvety midpalate, rich with layers of ripe purple fruit and cassis. Well-integrated and melting tannins lead to a long finish.

Rich aromas come with a juicy layer of lush red and black jam fruits, dark chocolate, black tea, smoke and spice. Elegant long finish.

Rich notes of smoky sandalwood, chocolate and sweet almonds. Round but firm mouthfeel and linger on the finish with cherries, cedar and cacao.

This month "Fukucho" specially presents a range of sake with polished unique "Hattanso" brewing rice for your comparision. Unlike the mainstream of brewing fine sake that polishes a large proportion of rice as much as it can, they use only 25% of rice polishing ratio for the new arrival of "Hattanso 75 Junmai", light flavour at first yet unforgettable rice fragrance
towards the end of the palate; "Hattanso 60 Junmai Ginjyo", density of aromas is well balanced and stands up with the remarkable "Hattanso" flavour. "Hattanso 50 Junmai Daiginjyo" delights everyone with its fresh and mild cheese aromas; "Hattanso 40 Junmai Daiginjyo", impressed by its intense honeydew melon aromas and silky palate. The most premium "Myokafu Junmai Daiginjyo", the rice is polished up to 30% and aged at low temperature, explicity showing the elegance of mature Daiginjyo aromas.
