A new collaborative brand was born when two nationally beloved comics,"GeGeGe no Kitaro" Created by Shigeru Mizuki and "Astro Boy" Created by Osamu Tezuka,get together.
"GeGeGe no Kitaro" is a representative work of Japanese Yokai (Spectres) Comics. Kitaro , a main character of the story , and this companions, fight together against evil spectres which cause harm on people.First appeared in public in 1959 and made into TV animation in 1968, the comic has been adapted into several movies as well as animations so far.
In KITARO X ATOM, Kitaro and his father, Medama-oyaji (Daddy Eyeball), Separately appear with Tezuka characters.Medama – oyaii peeps over Atom's head, on the other hand hyoutantsugi a character often seen in Astro Boy and other Tezuka's comics,sits on Kitaro's head. The encounter of popular characters from two different works is the key factor of this collaborative brand. |
