IT MAY LOOK LIKE the same space, but there's a fresh different feel to the S.F.B. counter, thanks to the influence of Chef Yukiko Akimoto.
The chef, who is at the forefront of healthy cooking in
Japan, brings a healthy twist to the Japanese delights served at S.F.B. She emphasises the use of natural ingredients including seaweed, dried bonito and sake in her cooking to bring out the natural fl avours of her ingredients.
The Chef is strict about keeping her food MSG free; she even uses non-MSG-based mirin and soy sauce to liven up her cooking.
"Food cooked with MSG can taste the same after a while. It can be very boring. I believe the use of natural ingredients is the way to prepare food so it is fresh, tasty and healthy," Chef Akimoto says.
Her healthy approach not only brings out the best in the vegetables and meats which refl ect the seasons, it also delivers taste sensations which brings diners the pleasure of tucking into a well-prepared, home cooked meal.
The dining experience, which Japanese food lovers can repeatedly enjoy in their offices or in the comfort of their own homes, is one that S.F.B. is certain both regulars and newcomers won't tire of anytime soon. |
